Nosizwe Lise Baqwa is a political activist, singer and actor. A multicast, which always has many iron in the fire. With roots both in Norway and in South Africa, she carries an artistic commitment, and a community commitment that permeates everything she does. Previously, she worked as a campaign coordinator for ICAN, the campaign against nuclear weapons, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017, and as a producer for the Oslo World Music Festival.
Nosizwe has long been a driving force in the growing Scandinavian soul universe, and has attracted many of the country's most exciting artists. In 2016, she launched her debut album, "In Fragments", in collaboration with producer legend Georgia Ann Muldrow. The album was nominated for the "Phonophile Nordic Album of the Year".
In 2016 and 2017, she played the role of Nina Simone in the critically acclaimed musical "I'm Nina" who went to full house at the Nordic Black Theater. She loves working with children and youngsters, and is currently a musical consultant for Color Games, which has been referred to as "Norway's most ambitious performing arts project". Based on the cultural treasures that children from over 100 countries carry, Fargespill sets up its first performance in Oslo in spring 2018.
In 2018, Nosizwe launches new versions of her "In Fragments" project, as well as participating in the "Century's Voice", a singing contest on TV2 where some of Norway's best performers perform songs from the last decades. She also performs in the new critically acclaimed drama series "A Night" at NRK, created by Øystein Karlsen and Kristoffer Schau. The experience of "A Night" has given her blood to the actress, and has made her want to focus more on exciting television and film projects in the future.
